Homework
Ask: Imagine Im a tourist here. What would you tell me to
go and see in this town or city? Elicit some ideas from the
students and then explain for their homework they are
going to write about a place they think tourists should
visit. If they do not think there is anything for tourists to
see where they live, suggest they write about somewhere
else in Poland. They only need to write about one
place or building. Write some prompts on the board to
help them:
What is the place or building?
Where is it?
What is there to see and do there?
Why do you think it is interesting?

Extra Activity
Ask the students to decide on one place or building they really like or
dislike. Then invite them to work with a friend to talk about this place
or building. Write some prompts on the board to help them:
Whats its name?
Where is it?
How old is it?
Why do people visit it?
Why do you like / not like it?

Monitor and help as necessary. Make a note of any pronunciation
or sentence structure problems and deal with these at the end as
a class. Ensure both students in each pair talk about two diff erent
places or buildings. When everyone has f nished speaking, invite
three or four pairs to repeat their conversation for the class.
